Grace Lutheran Church COVID-19 Worship Attendance Policy

In accordance with Governor Abbott’s executive order GA-18, the following are the minimum recommended health protocols we are implementing until further notice.  Because of the hidden nature of this threat (COVID-19 Virus), we encourage everyone to follow CDC guidelines and ask everyone to rigorously follow the practices specified in these protocols, all of which facilitate a safe and measured reopening of our regular Church activities. The virus that causes COVID-19 is still circulating in our community. We should continue to observe practices that protect everyone, including those who are most vulnerable.

Due to social distancing measures being implemented, seating could be limited. If you have questions please call the church office at 361-573-2232.

Entry into the building for worship is restricted to the Main Front Doors of the Church Sanctuary/Narthex.  For inclement weather the covered drop-off door will be available.

The Food & Fellowship time (8:30-9:00am)now utilizes modified serving methods.

At risk populations are strongly encouraged to watch or participate in the service remotely.

  • At-risk populations are those who are 65 or older, especially those with chronic lung disease; moderate to severe asthma; chronic heart disease; severe obesity; diabetes; chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis; liver disease; or weakened immune system

All Attendees 11 and older are encouraged to wear a mask while in the church building or when closer than 6ft to a person outside your family unit.

All Attendees 5 and older are asked to sanitize their hands upon entry into the building

All Attendees shall maintain 6 feet of separation from other individuals as well as practice the following measures including face covering, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, cleanliness, and sanitation.

Attendees must keep at least two empty seats (or six feet separation) between parties in any row, except as follows:

  • Two or more members of the same household can sit adjacent to one another, with two seats (or six feet separation) empty on either side.
  • Two individuals who are not members of the same household but who are attending together can sit adjacent to one another, with two seats (or six feet separation) empty on either side.

If you have any of the following new or worsening signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19 you are kindly asked to worship and attend Bible Class remotely:

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Diarrhea
  • Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19

Please do not return to “in-person” worship until all three of the following criteria are met: at least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since recovery (resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications); and you have improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath); and at least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.

If you have been in known close contact to a person who is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 do not attend "in-person" Church Services/Bible Classes until the end of the 14 day self-quarantine period from the last date of exposure.
